Dr. Theodore Zanto is an Assistant Professor in Neurology at UCSF and Director of the Neuroscape Neuroscience Division. He utilizes fMRI, EEG, and non-invasive neurostimulation techniques (TMS & TES) to study neural mechanisms at the intersection of attention, perception, and memory.

Leveraging the findings from his research, Ted also develops new therapeutic techniques targeting a variety of cognitive deficiencies, including learning difficulties in children and memory impairment in elderly. Ted believes the key to healthy cognitive function across the lifespan lies in consistent cognitive engagement and early interventions before dysfunction takes hold.

As such, Ted speaks in classrooms at all levels of education - from Pre-K through College - on the importance of brain health. In doing so, he also promotes STEM education more broadly and provides mentoring for students with an interest in science.
